BitMart claims glossary
Plain-language definitions for reading account records, purchase offers and BitMart proposals.
Claim
A claimed right to payment or another remedy. Its basis, ownership, amount and transferability need evidence; a displayed balance alone does not settle every question.
Read the related explanationAccount balance
The asset quantities or valuation shown in an account at a particular time. Record quantities and valuation separately; neither is automatically a purchase price.
Read the related explanationPurchase price
The amount a buyer offers for specified rights on stated conditions. It may differ from the account value and any eventual recovery.
Read the related explanationNet proceeds
The purchase payment after the deductions borne by the seller. A useful comparison states the currency, deductions and unresolved costs.
Read the related explanationAssignment
A transfer of specified rights. Whether and how those rights can move depends on the applicable terms and law; sharing account credentials is not the same thing.
Read the related explanationDue diligence
A review of ownership, records, inconsistencies and transaction requirements. A request for review is not confirmation that a purchase will close.
Read the related explanationClosing
Completion of the agreed transaction steps. The contract should explain the relationship between conditions, transfer and payment.
Read the related explanationDistribution
A payment or allocation under the applicable process. A projected distribution is different from a confirmed amount or an executed payment.
Read the related explanationTXID / transaction hash
An identifier used to locate a blockchain transaction on its network. A support ticket or exchange order number is not a substitute.
Read the related explanationMemo / destination tag
Additional routing information required by some receiving services. Check the instructions for the specific asset, network and destination.
Read the related explanationKYC
Identity verification. It is distinct from investigating the source of a particular deposit or confirming that a withdrawal has been approved.
Read the related explanationSource of funds
The origin of the funds involved in the relevant transaction. A response should connect the explanation to authentic supporting records.
Read the related explanationRestitution Token
The instrument described in the indicative BitMart proposal in connection with hacked-proceeds recoveries. The name or unit count is not a market valuation.
Read the related explanationContinuum Token
The proposed instrument connected with other asset value and conditional future business proceeds. Final rights and actual value require separate verification.
